Based on the invitation addressed to Assist. Prof. Dr. Kawkeb Najim Al-Din Abdullah, the National Pioneer Cancer Research Center Director, to attend the ninth scientific conference of the United Iraqi Medical Association in the United Kingdom and Ireland, which was held from 13-14 May 2023 on the conference hall at the Courtyard Heathrow Hotel, London. The Conference President and the Association President, Dr. Rafid Aziz, praised the efforts of the center’s management to cooperation with international organizations in order to move forward in the early detection of cancer project, especially cervical cancer, through continuous meetings with the organization members in the United Kingdom in the specialty of obstetrics and gynecology. On the sidelines of the conference, the Director of the Centre met with Prof. Dr. Mohammed Hamza Al-Hashmi, Cultural Attaché in the United Kingdom, who praised the role of the University of Baghdad and the Pioneering center and intensified the efforts to activate the role of cancer research centers in Iraq. Due to the high rates of cancer in the world generally and in Iraq particularly, an invitation was sent from Prof. Dr. Mohammed Hamza Al-Hashmi to the director of the center to attend a meeting at the headquarters of the Cultural Attaché in London after the conference to discuss the activation cooperation between the Pioneering center and the cancer research centers in the United Kingdom. Prof. Dr. Mohammed Hamza expressed the support to the center to make it among the advanced centers in the world.
